John Palsis, MD

Dr. John Palsis is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with a specialty interest in sports medicine.

Dr. Palsis is a Brevard-county native who graduated as salutatorian from Melbourne Central Catholic High School. He attended the University of Florida on an academic scholarship and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology and a minor in business administration with a 4.0 GPA. Dr. Palsis continued his education at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He established a successful business of medicine lecture series that was thereafter incorporated into the medical school curriculum. Dr. Palsis completed his internship at Banner Good Samaritan in Phoenix, Arizona and the remainder of his orthopaedic surgery residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Palsis served as one of two orthopaedic surgery residents nationally as a liaison between the American Orthopaedic Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges in order to shape policies and improve resident education. Dr. Palsis completed an orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship in New Orleans with Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute. He has served as a team physician for professional and collegiate teams including the New Orleans Saints, the New Orleans Pelicans, and the University of New Orleans.

Dr. Palsis has several publications in peer-reviewed journals including the most prestigious orthopaedic journal, The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He has spoken nationally on a range of orthopaedic topics. Dr. Palsis is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Dr. Palsis resides in Indialantic. In his spare time, Dr. Palsis enjoys photography, woodworking, playing sports, going to the beach, and spending time with his wife, Danielle, and two young daughters, Sydney and Cassidy.
